Joel Baker, 58, of Billings passed away suddenly on September 5, 2017. Joel was born September 7, 1958 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts to Kenneth Baker and Janet DelGallo.
Joel was an athletic, fun, loving, and personable guy. He loved his sports. He enjoyed playing the million dollar games with his brothers, whether it was basketball, football, or baseball. He was an avid LA Dodger’s fan.
In 1980, Joel met the future love of his life, Susan, in Great Falls where they started their long journey together. They welcomed their son into the world in 1984, and then in 1985 they moved to Seattle, where Joel worked as a plumber and school bus driver.
In 1994, Joel and Susan moved back to Billings to be closer to family. He worked for the Billings Gazette as a dispatch driver and later at Montana Peterbilt, where he was working at the time of his death. Joel got into softball during the summer and bowling in the winter. He also participated in the Double Nickle tournaments when he turned 55.
Joel leaves behind his wife Susan; son Joel (Brittany) Baker; mother Janet DelGallo; sisters: Jan Carter, Karyn Wood, Jackie (Larry) Falk; brothers: Kenn (Kathy) Baker, Jay Baker, Kerry (Carol) Baker; grandchildren Kylar, Kenzey, and Aubree Baker; plus numerous nephews and nieces whom he loved as if they were his own.
A viewing will be from 3-7 pm with a Vigil following on Tuesday Sept. 12. Funeral Services will be held at 10 am on Wednesday Sept. 13. Both will be held at Cremation & Funeral Gallery.
