Myrtle E Balzer, 95, passed away at Laurel Health and Rehab Nursing Home on March 30, 2016.
Myrtle was born in Park City, MT on July 11, 1920, the daughter of Elmo and Lillie Mae Southworth. She had 7 brothers and 1 sister.
In 1938 she married Wesley Kellogg. To this union a son, Leslie Kellogg, and a daughter,
Sharon Gebhardt, were born. Remarried in 1946 to Earl Kellogg; from this union, Cathy Ferro and Joey Kellogg were born. In 1965 she married again to Jake Balzer.
Being a loving mother and grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. Her home for many years was a gathering place for family and friends. Nothing pleased her more than family events at her home.
She also had a love for Montana’s great outdoors, camping and fishing at any opportunity. A lifelong Methodist, her faith was quiet and very personal.
She is preceded in death by five of her brothers Alvin, Elmo (Bus), Lawrence, Kenneth and Gene Southworth and her sister Margaret Kober; her third husband Jake Balzer; and one son, Joey Kellogg.
She is survived by her brothers Richard and Joe Southworth; her son Leslie Kellogg; her two daughters Sharon (Vernon) Gebhardt and Cathy Ferro; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
She will be greatly missed!
Memorial Services will be at Cremation & Funeral Gallery 29 8th Street West on Tuesday April 5th at 2pm.
