Leslie Renee Bellis, passed away Monday, March 30, 2017. She was born Sept. 30, 1959. Leslie grew up attending school in Scottsdale, Arizona, where she took a liking to barrel racing for a few years. Leslie moved to Billings in the ‘70s with her son Josh Hall. This is where she met Jim Powell, they were married and had two children, Luke and Jenny Powell. Through the years together, she enjoyed hiking, camping and her children. Leslie had a true passion for birds — in later years of life, we all called her “the bird lady.” Her other passions involved people, serving for many years as a cook in nursing homes around Billings, moving on to finding her home as a customer service specialist at the airport.
Leslie is preceded in death by her dad, Harold (Bud) Bellis. She is survived by her mother, Maxine Searles; her brother, Shawn Bellis; sons, Josh Hall and Luke Powell; daughter, Jenny Wagenfehr; and companion Tim Crews.
A celebration of life will be held from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, April 9, at Billings Logan International Airport. Burial is planned in Missoula. Cremation and Funeral Gallery assisted with arrangements.
