Vonnie Blackford age 67, of Billings, MT, died in the early morning of January 24, 2019 at her daughter’s home after a short battle with cancer.

Vonnie was born November 13, 1951 in Wisconsin to parents, William and Bernice Dahms. Her Family moved to Billings, MT in 1952.

Vonnie was raised in Billings and married Gary Leroy Ulstad in 1969 and in this union had 2 daughters. On Aug. 30, 1993, Vonnie married the love of her life, William Glen Blackford.

Vonnie worked cleaning RV’s at Pierce RV for approximately 30 years and over the last 10 years has worked as a lunch aid at Lockwood Elementary School. She enjoyed being with the kids at the school and working with her co-workers.

Vonnie loved spending time with her late husband Glen fishing and camping. She especially enjoyed spending time visiting with family and friends and stopping by Sam’s Place to have a couple beers.

Vonnie is survived by her children, Angela (Rick) Oakley and three grandsons, Andrew, Alexander, and Bradley (of North Bend, WA), and Stacy (Ryan) Schoepp and two granddaughters, Jordan and Kylee of Billings, MT; sisters, Phyllis Dahms, Linda Wrigg, and Paulette Scullen, all of Billings, and Julie Blotsky of Miles City, MT; many nieces, two nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Vonnie was preceded in death by her husband Glen; parents; sister, Donna Michael, and two brothers, Roger and David.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 26th at 2 p.m., at Cremation and Funeral Gallery.
