Anne Avril Mitchell was born on April 5, 1936 in Edinburgh, Scotland to Ronald and Doris Mitchell, and passed away on April 16, 2016 at Riverstone Hospice House. She lost her dad at a young age in a regatta accident. Her mother remarried David Letham, who took her in as his own. To this union was born her one sibling, Doreen Letham.
She married William H. Egan in 1954. Their first son, David James, was born in 1954, followed by Avril Christina in 1956. They moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba for Bill’s work. Their family was completed with the birth of their son, (William) Daniel in 1962. Bill and Anne later divorced.
Anne married Gordon Bolte and made their home in Billings, Montana, blending their families to include his four children Mike, David, Shelley and Shannon. Anne had many “jobs” in life, from pet shop helper to model, mother and homemaker to running a dude ranch in Arizona and finishing with Nuts by Boltes. Anne was a meticulous housekeeper, an excellent cook, and loved to entertain. She loved animals, and her current cat Gracie will miss her deep devotion.
Anne lost her daughter Avril in 1979 and son Daniel in 1981. This left a deep hole in her heart.
Anne and Gordon celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary on November 9, 2014, shortly before his passing on November 17, 2014.
She is survived by sons David (Valerie) of Billings, Mike Bolte (Claude) of Shepherd, David Bolte (Colleen) of Glenrock, WY; daughters Shelley Johnson (Bill) of Kalispell, and Shannon Bolte of Brighton, CO; sister Doreen Letham, of Scotland; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many close friends whom she considered to be family. A special thank you to Ashley DiFronzo for her dedicated friendship; and, to her special neighbors who took care of her home and cat in her final days.
Thanks also to the staff of Billings Clinic Hospital, St. John’s TCC, and Riverstone Hospice, who made her final days more comfortable.
As per her request, no services are planned.
