Erzeldia Fleurette Boyd passed away in her sleep on May 16, 2016. She was born June 22, 1935, in Crow Agency, Montana to James and Ellen Warren. Her early years were spent in Illinois, until her family moved to Lander, Wyoming when she was 11 years old. She completed high school there and attended one year of college at the University of Denver before returning to Lander. There she met John Boyd and, after a brief courtship, Zelda and John were married on May 28, 1955.
The couple moved around the country with John’s job for several years. Their first child Patty was born in November 1957, followed by John Craig in July 1960.
Zelda and John eventually settled in Billings, Montana in 1962.
Zelda was active in her children’s education and other activities until they were in high school, when she took a job at Hennessey’s in customer service, where she worked for ten years.
Zelda and John enjoyed traveling, including trips to Italy, Cancun, and the Mexican Riviera. In her 60’s, Zelda and John spent winters in Casa Grande, Arizona until her health began to decline. She spent the last four years as a resident of Valley Health Care in Billings.
In May of 2015, Zelda and John celebrated their 60th anniversary.
She is survived by her husband, John; daughter, Patty McMullin; son, John Craig Boyd (Terry); grandsons, Austin and Marcus Boyd; and one great granddaughter, Sheyenne McRorie-Boyd. Zelda has one surviving sister, Gwen (Charles) Schofield, as well as numerous niece and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and five sisters.
