Romona Fay Burke (Forbes) ended her journey  with her family by her side at the age of 66, having fought a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Mona was born in Wabash Indiana on January 22, 1954 to John and Lucile Forbes. The fifth of seven children.

Mona graduated high school from Huntington Indiana in 1972, she then married Robert Stetzel and had one daughter, Ellie. Mona and her family moved to Malta in 1976 where she worked at the good Sam nursing home. Later she and Robert divorced. She then remarried to George Tremblay in 1980. Of this union they had one daughter, Amy. They all lived on the KRM Where George worked for Lance Johnsen until 1984 when they divorced.

Mona lived with her girls in Malta until 1985 when they move to Billings, where she met Bill Burke. They met at the Kit Kat café where she worked for 10 years. She made many friends in her time there. The Kit Kat closed in 2001 and Mona then worked at Kmart until it closed. Bill retired from the YVEC in Huntley and Mona worked seasonally at Gainans until she retired, she loved the flowers. Bill passed away in 2014 with Mona by his side. Ellie moved in to help with Mona‘s day to day after her diagnosis in 2015. Ellie and Amy stayed with her until she passed.

She is preceded in death by her parents John and Lucile Forbes. And also by Robert Stetzel and Bill Burke.

Mona is survived by her two daughters, Ellie Tremblay and Amy Gartside. She is also survived by her brothers Pete and Lynn. Along with her four sisters, Teresa, Cassandra, Jan and Abbie. She is also survived by the light of her life, five grandchildren… Shelby, Justine, Austin, Alex and Mason and one super special great grandson Greyson.

Cremation has taken place, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
