Kenneth “Ken” Albert Burlingame, 86, of Billings, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on October 5, 2015.
He was born in 1928 in Great Falls to Jeannette Bochencamp Burlingame and Nigel Burlingame. He was raised by Cecil and Lorna Huffman in Choteau. He attended school in Choteau, graduating from Teton County High in 1947.
He served a full term in the US Army. After being discharged from the army, Ken continued his service in the Montana National Guard.
On October 3, 1954 Ken married Lucy May Cherry in Choteau. Ken and Lucy moved to Fort Benton in 1957. He worked as a butcher at Bennett’s IGA for the next 15 years. During this time they raised their family and were active members of the community coaching little league, scouts, and school sports. Also, Ken was an active member of the Fort Benton Community Bible Church. In 1972 they moved to Billings, where he developed a love for the game of golf. He became an accomplished golfer. Ken was an active member of Billings Bible Church and later Faith Evangelical Church.
Kenneth is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lucy Cherry Burlingame, their four children and spouses, Terry Burlingame (Vicki), Cinda Grubb (Larry), Harvey Burlingame (Neva), Debra Burlingame; and also three grandchildren Johnathan Grubb, Brittany Burlingame, and Danielle Grubb. He will be missed by all.
