June Marie Butler

On December 11th, our beloved mother and grandmother, June Marie Butler, 95, was called home to Heaven. Mom was born in Laurel MT on June 24, 1923, the middle daughter of John & Grace Rademacher. June and her sisters, Helen and Ida, grew up on a farm outside of Molt MT and graduated with the class of 1941 from Broadview HS. June met her husband, Al, on a blind date in downtown Billings and was married in 1950 at the Methodist Church in Hollywood CA. Al & June enjoyed 23 years of marriage before Al’s untimely death in 1973. From that marriage were born four children: Thomas Murray, Alban Joseph (Joe), John Samuel, and Paula Eileen. Mom and Dad’s travels took them to Seattle and Los Angeles before finally returning to Billings where Mom lived out the remainder of her full and rewarding life. June was an amazing crochet artist (best wash cloths ever!), voracious reader, cross word puzzle expert, could seemingly type a thousand words a minute with no errors and win a sawbuck (or two) after playing penny slots in Deadwood for hours on end. In her professional career, June was an accomplished secretary and administrative assistant dedicating thirty plus combined years to the Rocky Mountain College development office and her beloved Ronald McDonald House.

Mom was preceded in death by her parents, John & Grace (Thomson) Rademacher; husband, Al; sisters Helen (Guy) Troup and Ida (Arnold) Kober. Mom is survived by her children and grandchildren: son, Tom (Kathy) of Billings and their sons Jeff (Kim) & Christian; son, Joe (Carolyn) of Bothell WA and their daughter Shevaun (John); son, John of Billings and his daughters Adrienne and Grace and sons Jordan, Jared (Kelsey), and Kenan; daughter, Paula of Wyoming, as well as several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Cremation & Funeral Gallery, 29 – 8th Street West, Billings. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to: Ronald McDonald House, 1144 No. 30th St., Billings MT 59101.
