Dudley D. Cady was born November 12th, 1953 in Billings, MT to Edward & Ione Mayer and he left this world on July 26, 2017 to be with his Savior.
Dudley and his siblings were later adopted by Bruce Cady.
Dudley attended grade school in Custer, MT and later graduated from Red Lodge High School in 1972.
He is fondly remembered by his proudest accomplishment, his daughter, Desi Raye Dawn Cady.
Dudley was always by Desi’s side while she struggled with numerous surgeries for her brain tumor and becoming blind as a young child. She remembers him sitting by her bed during all her pain. Through all the surgeries, chemotherapy and radiation, he was there to provide her with constant support and love.
Desi knows, he is now in a better place with his Heavenly Father and is surrounded by God’s loving hands and waiting for the rest of us. No more pain or demons to battle for him, he is now soaring with the eagles in the blue skies forever. He will always be Desi’s and our hero!
Dudley was exceptionally proud of his military service in the US Army where he was a member of the 101st Airborne, Rangers, Delta Force and other Special Operations units from 1972 to 1980.
He is survived by his daughters; Desi of Billings and KC (Terry) Lang of Clarksville, TN, parents; Bruce and Ione Cady of Billings, brothers; Larry (Deb) of Ashland, Rick (Ann) of Colstrip, Jeff (April) of Lame Deer, sisters; Shelly (Doug) Cahill of Brockway, Linda (Heath) Hoffman of Huntley and Reina of Billings. Dudley also has numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins who he thought dearly of; you know who you are.
He is preceded in death by his father Edward Mayer, his grandparents, Fred and Lottie Rummel, Max and Francis Mayer, Earl (Mugs) and Ruth Cady. Also, infant brother Edward Mayer Jr.
Dudley asked that everyone live their life by the words in the song “Always Be Humble & Kind” by Tim McGraw.
FLY HIGH DUDLEY, your family loves you and will dearly miss you. You will be in our hearts forever.
A Graveside Service with Full Military Honors will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday August 1, 2017 at Yellowstone National Cemetery.
