Robert [Bob] Rosco Carrell, 92, of Billings, Montana, entered into the arms of his savior, Jesus Christ, on March 30, 2016. Bob loved the Lord. He was born on September 14, 1923 in Cat Creek, to parents, Charles S. Carrell and Stella Love Carrell. He had nine siblings. Most of Bob’s childhood was spent in Fromberg, Montana, where he learned his work ethics while farming with his father at a young age. He attended Fromberg Elementary and Middle School and Senior High in Billings.
On September 26, 1942, he married Blanche Davis in Coeur d Alene, Idaho. They had four children: Robert, Charles, Laura and Alice. During their marriage, Bob moved his family many times, progressing in his career.
Bob worked for Boeing Airplane Company in 1944-1945 and rejoined them in 1953. He was an inspector and quality control supervisor on various aircraft, including the B-52, B-47, F-86 and KC-135. He was the Base Reliability Administer for the Bomarc Missile program and he inspected the construction of commercial models 707, 720, and 727. He retired during the construction of the 747. Upon retirement, Bob and Blanche moved to Casper, Wyoming, where he supervised the construction of Highland Park Church of God. Bob left the construction field and travelled with Blanche in their motor home for the next 19 years, before settling in Billings, where their daughter lived. Blanche died in March, 2010.
Bob won many friends with his sense of humor. He moved into Sweetwater Retirement Center in 2007. It was at Sweetwater where he met Elsa K. Reichert. They were married October 20, 2011. Elsa and Bob had a short but wonderful life together. In 2015, Bob developed COPD, and Elsa became his loving caregiver. The family would like to thank the staff of Sweetwater Retirement Center and River Stone Hospice, especially RN Kim, and the nursing staff of Sweetwater for the final care of Bob.
Survivors include his wife, Elsa K. Carrell, his sons, Robert (Kathy) Carrell of Indianapolis, Indiana, Charles (Crystal) Carrell of Houston, Texas, his daughters, Laura Odegaard of Phoenix, Arizona and Billings, Montana and Alice (Terry) Baughman of Spokane, Washington. He also is survived by his stepson, George Irwin of San Jose, California and his 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
