Yvonne “Vonnie” Demaree (Hoover), 81, passed away at home with her family after a very fast battle with cancer.
Yvonne was born December 29, 1934 in Denver, CO to Forest and Grace Hoover.
On September 30, 1950 she married the lover of her life, Morris Demaree Jr. Six children were born to their marriage and were very obviously the center of her life for many years as they grew and had families of their own. Her family meant the world to her.
After many years of taking care of the family trucking businesses, she joined her husband “on the road”. She spent 10 years trucking across the country with her husband before retiring in 1999.
She loved crafts, and canning, painting, ceramics, cross stitch, quilting, sewing and was a perfectionist at them all! She was always willing to pass on skills to children and grandchildren. Her traditions will forever go on in the family.
She is survived by her children, Monty, Larry (Debbie), Gary (Peggy), Tana, Toni (Lane), Scott (Rebecca); many special grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; half-brother Bob (Flo); half-sister Betty DeLaurie; and… Duke, her precious four-legged child.
She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband of 57 years, son-in-law Ron (Tana), sisters Jacque and Joyce, and brother Dick.
“Mom will continue to guide us through life from beyond, as she so gracefully did while here with us.”
Graveside services will be held 1pm Friday, August 19, 2016 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Reception will be held at Central Park Pavillion (8th and Central) immediately following services.
