Ardella Mae Dick passed peacefully on Tuesday morning, Aug. 7, 2018, at the age of 77. Daughter of Eugenia and Anton Frank, Ardella was born in Minot, North Dakota, on May 9, 1941. After her father’s death at a young age, she was raised by her mother and step-father, Frank Arms.
Ardella married Jim Dick in 1970 and had two children, Rodney Franklin and Todd Allen. She spent most of her adult life in Billings, Montana, where she owned her own daycare for many years, co-managed a baking and candy business with her sister, Nettie, and worked in the baking and grocery service industry until her retirement from County Market. In retirement, Ardella enjoyed scrapbooking, arts and crafts, and spent hours building jigsaw puzzles. Selfless in life, Ardella had a kind soul and a warm heart.
Ardella was preceded in death by her father, Anton, her mother, Eugenia, her step-father, Frank (Arms), her husband, Jim, and her step-son, Roger. Ardella loved unconditionally, was loved deeply, and will be missed beyond words.
She is survived by her two sons, Rodney (Tina) and Todd, her step-daughter, Sharyl (Jim) Zahn, her two sisters, Marlys (Frank) Raville and Nettie Grosulak, and a bevy of grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and cousins.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at the Cremation & Funeral Gallery at 29 8th Street West in Billings on Thursday, Aug. 16, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Ardella’s name to the charity of your choice.
