Dolores Thornburgh Edwards, 84, of Billings died peacefully of natural causes on May 14, 2020.

Dolores “Dee” was born in Emmett, ID, on August 27, 1935, to her parents J. Frank and Woah Anderson, joining older brother Don. In November 1936, the family moved to Cody, WY. Dee grew up in Cody and graduated from Cody High School in 1953.

Dee married Jack Thornburgh in May 1953, and the couple settled in Cody. A few years later they moved to Englewood, CO but eventually returned to Cody where they welcomed daughters Kelly Kay, Paige Ann, and Susan Rae. In 1966 the family moved to Beaverton, OR, where they stayed for just a year before moving to and settling in Billings. In February 1991 she was married to Lynn Edwards.

Dee was a stay at home mom for most of those years. When her daughters were in college and high school, she went to work for Hart Albin until they closed their doors. At that time, she went to work for Herberger’s selling cosmetics until she decided to retire.

An avid animal lover, Dee had many pets throughout her life. She spoke fondly of her dogs and cats. Her girls teased her that she usually showed pictures of the pets before she would pull out pictures of her grandchildren. She also enjoyed her daughter’s dogs and cats and loved when they came to visit.

She was immensely proud of her girls and grandchildren and loved to visit with them. In her last days, her family was able to spend a lot of time with her.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, J. Frank Anderson and Woah Anderson, her brother Don Anderson, Jack Thornburgh and lifelong friends Chuck & Jeannie Eicher. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Kelly & Cal Schmidt, Billings, Paige Mattes and Roy Armstrong, Billings and Susan Phillipy and Dave Barnes, Denver, CO, her grandchildren Dustin Mattes, Coeur d’Alene, ID, Danielle Mattes, Coeur d’Alene, ID, Brittani Phillipy, Denver, CO, and Kyle Schmidt, Billings, and Lynn Edwards
