Martha M. Giesick – July 16, 1933 – February 28, 2020
On February 28, 2020, God called Martha M. Giesick home and another Angel entered heaven’s gate. Martha Kostelecky Giesick was born to Frank and Emma Kostelecky on July 16, 1933 in Dickinson, ND. She was one of 8 children raised on the family farm, growing up during hard times, but learning life lessons that she passed on to her loving family.
Martha was a loving, caring, and resilient woman marrying and surviving three husbands. She married her first love Nicodemus Dolechek in September 1953 and together they raised 4 children until Nick was lost in a tragic accident in July 1974. Martha met and married Hilmer Vossler in 1977 and they enjoyed a life of fun and adventure traveling to many exotic places until Hilmer passed away in 1983. In 1987 Mom met and Married Robert Giesick; they made their home in Laurel, MT for the next 30 years until Bob passed away in June of 2017. After Bob’s death, Mom moved to West Park Village and enjoyed her remaining years playing bingo, reading, playing cards, plugging $5 in the keno machine, and cruising around the facility in her walker, visiting her friends and loving the attention she received from the loving & caring West Park staff.
Martha’s legacy will be carried on by her four children; Colette (Dale) Schlehuber, Marilyn (Corby) Moore, Darlene (Richard) Hert, and Doug (Leslie) Dolechek. 8 grandchildren, Cody (Heather) Schlehuber, Troy Schlehuber (Tayler Johnson), Lindsey (Brent) Kasper, Kaitlyn (Luke) Weer, Kyle (Logan) Hert, Stephanie (John) Elsenpeter, Nathan (Tonia) Moore, Christina (Kelly) Smith. 10 Great Grandchildren; David, Dane, & Drake Cross, Lilly & Brayden Kasper, Nola Hert, Charlotte & Wyatt Weer, Tatum Elsenpeter and soon to arrive Baby Girl Elsenpeter due in July 2020. She is also survived by one sister Elsie Frenzel.
Martha was also preceded in death by her parents; Frank & Emma Kostelecky, Brothers Ted and Robert, her four sisters, Josie, Emma, Dorothy, and Mary; and her Great Granddaughter Layken Lee Elsenpeter.
Cremation has taken place through Cremation and Funeral Gallery in Billings MT and a celebration of Martha’s life will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Laurel, MT on Thursday March 5, 2020, at 11:00 AM. The family would like to thank all the staff at West Park Village and St. John’s Hospice, who lovingly cared for her over the past few years.
