Joyce Louise Gilbertson passed away on Saturday, January 9th, 2016 in Billings, Montana. She joins her husband, Larry. Her mother, Edith, father, Frank Cousins, and brother Frank.
Joyce is survived by her sons, Todd Laurie, Frank (Sabrina) Gilbertson, Felix Gilbertson, and daughters, Jessica (Jens) Winge-Petersen, and Katie (Gordon) Leibrand. Grandchildren, Alexis and Ashley Laurie, Prewitt, Payton, Aiden, and Curtis Leibrand, Emma and James Gilbertson, Kaila and Maximus Winge-Petersen. Four nephews, Kevin (Sheila) and Jeremy (Jennifer) Gilbertson, Craig (Trish) and David Cousins and niece, Lisa (Dave) Gluth.
Joyce was born October 1st, 1945 in Makinsons, Newfoundland to Edith and Frank Cousins. She grew up an attended school in Newfoundland.
Joyce then moved to California where she lived for 6 years and met her husband, Larry Gilbertson. The two of them moved to Montana to begin farming and were married, November 08, 1974.
Joyce enjoyed many pursuits which included retail clothing, owning stores in Plentywood and Poplar. Food services in which she owned restaurants in Scobey and Plentywood, as well as many years employed at Poplar Schools in the cafeteria where she loved her time with the children.
Joyce was well-known for her love of her family, overwhelming pride in her grandchildren; her jovial nature and full laughter which will always be remembered.
The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the staff at Daniels Memorial where she spent her last day’s fillings the halls with laughter and smiles. You Are My Sunshine.
