Mary Ann Grob passed away on Thursday morning May 7th, 2020 after a short illness. She said “I’m ready to go see Dad”.
Mary was born and raised in Mott, ND on May 28th, 1937 the only girl to Valentine (Freddie) and Barbara Roll. She was raised with five brothers. She met and married Richard Larson. They had three children together and moved to Billings in 1960. Mary was a very hardworking mother and wife.
She met and married Duane Grob while a hostess at Wong Village. Together they had a son. Mary and Duane became an invincible team and went on to own Wong Village and subsequently The Tap Inn, Little Nevada Casino and a sweeping company in Tucson, AZ. Mary and Duane took up bowling and golf together and met many lifelong friends participating in these two passions. They also loved to boat and snowmobile with many vacations with the kids surrounding these activities. She also loved to travel abroad with too many destinations to mention. (Hawaii – her favorite!).
She adored her pets, Spike and Spike II, both cairn terriers and Miles and Buddy, her two bichon frisees. Buddy is still with us and has found a new home with Vicki. Mary’s always loved to spoil her grandchildren and the answer was always yes. We will all miss you Grandma, Mom.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents and four brothers Joe, Art, John, and Stanley.
Mary is survived by brother Marvin, sisters-in-laws, June and Valerie Roll. Her children also daughter Vicki Larson, sons Rick Larson (Diana), Terry Larson (Helen) and Mike Grob (Kristi), granddaughters Ashley O’Hayre (Casey), Holly and Dana Grob, grandsons Taylor Larson, Austin Larson and one great granddaughter Amelia O’Hayre.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to Mary’s favorite charities would be greatly appreciated: First Tee of Montana and Yellowstone County Animal Shelter. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
