Jerold (Jerry) Arvin Harris, 82, of Billings died Thursday, May 9, 2019 from Heart Disease. He was born May 5, 1937 in Columbus, MT to C. Byron and Inga Harris. He attended Columbus and Billings schools. Jerry married Ellen Lorraine Arden in 1956 and they were happily married for 63 years. He was baptized as a Jehovah’s Witness in 1950 and served Jehovah God faithfully until his death. He devoted countless hours to the Ministry. He was a wonderful Husband, Father, Grampa, and friend.
Jerry will always be remembered for his kind and gentle nature, his cheerful optimistic attitude, and his beautiful tenor singing voice. His voice commanded the stage as the featured soloist at many events and celebrations. In school, he was the lead singer in theatrical productions. He was invited to Juilliard School in New York City but chose to stay in Montana. He was truly a performing artist, known for his graceful dancing and acting talents. In his favorite scripture Isaiah 55:11, Jehovah God explains his ability to ‘get his will accomplished’. Jerry skillfully accomplished what he set his mind upon as well. He worked in all phases of the meat business as a meat-cutter for 50 years. Whether working in/on the house, on cars, or dancing, or enjoying the outdoors skiing, swimming/diving, hiking/fishing or golfing, he was known for his excellent abilities.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Joyce (Tom) Nelson.
Survivors include his wife Ellen; sons Wade and Tracy (Stacy); granddaughters Cassidy (Andy) Lilienthal and Carson (Ignacio Abreu Marmol); great-grandsons Nigel and Otto Lilienthal; brother Hal; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be Saturday, May 25th at 11:00 A.M. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on 405 S. 36th St. West in Billings, MT.
