Frances Y. Rakstad Hippe, 82, of Billings passed away peacefully on March 12, 2018.
Fran was born August 8, 1935 to Millard and Florence Rakstad.  She graduated from high school in Henning, MN in 1953. Fran attended St. Cloud Teachers College one year, then moved to Brockton MT, where she taught at a country school for one year.
She married Ron Hippe on September 11, 1955. They lived in Seattle, WA and then onto Ontario, OR.  They were blessed with , 2 children, Steven and Janet.
Fran and Ron moved to Froid, MT where they owned and operated Hippe’s Super Value until 1989.  It was then that they moved to Billings and became property managers for an apartment complex for 12 years retiring in July 2001. Ron passed in Oct. 2001 and she later married Lorne Richardson, who passed in 2014.
Fran was very active in the V.F.W., serving with multiple roles and loving every minute of it and the travel associated with it.  She was an avid pinochle card player, and always loved the challenge. If she could, she would play every day of the week.
Fran is survived by her 2 children Steve (Jackie) Hippe, Janet Hippe; grandsons: Jonathan (Lacey) Hippe, Logan (Cailley) Hippe and David Hippe; 2 great granddaughters: Izebele and Ezmae Hippe; 2 sisters: Helen (Ray) Mischel and Barb (Jerry) Mooney.
A Memorial Service is planned for 11 AM, April 7, 2018 at the Valley Christian Church (1603 St. Johns Ave., Billings, MT).
