On January 8, 2018, Arlen ‘Archie’ Hofferber took his last breath peacefully with his wife (Judy) and son (Cory) beside him at Billings Health and Rehab.  He suffered from Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and Dementia for several years, but is no longer in any pain.

Archie was born on October 12, 1938. He attended Garfield School and graduated from Senior High in 1958. He then joined the military for his 3 year term. Upon completion, he went to work for the Billings News Agency. Shortly after that, Archie met Judy at Juro’s, where she was working, when he went to buy tobacco for his corn cob pipe. It was love at first sight and they were married on April 22, 1963. Archie then started working for the Post Office in 1965 as a letter carrier, retiring in 2000.

Archie and Judy had two children, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren: daughter Valerie (Dimitri) Evangeline and her children & grandchildren: Shaylene (Matthew & Riley), Nicole (Ty) Maughan (Jacob, Izabelle, & Logan); and son Cory (Val) Hofferber and his children: Kayleena (Kyle) Arnold, Chance, Keelan, and Chelyssa. Words cannot describe how much he loved them all.

Archie also loved to spend time with family and friends, hunt, and fish the Stillwater (where his ashes will be scattered at a later date).

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, January 13 at Pilgrim Congregational Church, 409 S 36th St, Billings, MT 59101
