Sherman Arthur Horsley, Jr.

Sherman, 91, passed away April 27, 2018 with family at his side. He was born on July 18, 1926 in Decker, MT to Sherman Horsley and Jeanette Woodall. Sherman was the oldest of fourteen children. He went to school in Wyoming, and worked on the family farm. Sherman served in the Navy during World War II. Sherman married Jackie Marie Hart in 1974.  He became a chef after leaving the Navy. He cooked in Las Vegas, Wyoming, and Montana. He loved cooking, flowers, gardening, and his grandchildren.

Sherman was preceded in death by his parents: Jeanette and Sherman; his wife Jackie; siblings Donald, Virginia, Marion, Richard, and Russell.

He is survived by his children Wanda (Larry) Bird (Billings), Brad Hart (Houston, TX), Pam Gunnip (Eugene, OR); three grandchildren: Autumn Hart, Travis Bird, and Cordell Bird, all of Billings; four great-grandchildren: Jorden (Madeline) Hart, Loran Hart, Sabrina Hart, and Ian Shaffer, all of Billings; and one great-great-granddaughter, Haleigh Hart.

The family would like to thank the Home Base Team from the VA for everything they did.

Memorial Services with Military Honors will be held at 2 P.M. Thursday August 23, 2018 at Yellowstone National Cemetery in Laurel.
