Darcey L. Kerner was born Sept. 25, 1959 to Gilbert and Theresa (Farnes) Martin. She joined brothers Jerry and Steve, and for a short time Darwin blessed their lives as her younger brother. Over the years she believed family included more than just blood. Through this belief she gained a brother Keith, sisters Kristine and Pam, a step-father who inspired so much – Robert ‘Bob’ Farnes and adopted Dad Richard ‘Dick’ Hall. In 1977 she married Howard Bond. From this union her daughters Desiree and Stephanie were born. Life’s path brought her back to Billings in 1985. A year later she married Doug Kerner, the love of her life. With this she gained sons Earl and William, and daughter Amanda. In 1999, Darcey and Doug bought D-n-D Security. This brought a wealth of friendships with the City of Billings first responders. Along the way she was blessed with 20 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Many more called her mom, sister, auntie, and grandma and all came running when she made hamburger hash for dinner! One of our best memories is a simple dinner bringing 20 people to the table.
Darcey is survived by her husband, daughters, sons, 20 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and a wealth of family too numerous to count, and Karrie, Pam, Phyllis, Jacquie, and Becky – the best friends she could have ever asked for. She was preceded in death by her parents Gilbert and Theresa, dad Bob, and adopted dad Dick, Parents-in-law Belva and Lyle, sister-in-law Pam, her Uncle Steve, nephew Levi, niece Krystal, adopted brother Ritchie, and brothers Steve and Darwin.
Please join in the celebration of Darcey’s life Wednesday Oct. 17 at 1 pm, Lockwood Harvest Church, 1413 Rosebud Lane with reception to follow.
