Robert Edward Kunesh was born in Billings, Montana, on September 20th, 1946 to Edward and Betty (Williams) Kunesh. He joined his sister, Shirley.

Bob graduated in 1963 from Rapelje High School. He attended Montana State University in Bozeman, where he was on the Rodeo Team. He competed in the steer wrestling, team roping and calf roping.

He worked for the Montana Department of Livestock for a number of years all over the state of Montana. He then moved to California to attend horse shoeing school at Cal Poly University. He later spent about six months in Hawaii, enjoying his favorite things, good friends and sunshine. The majority of his life was spent rodeoing and shoeing horses. He loved and spoke of so many stories about his well-known bulldogging team, his loyal Heeler dogs and all of his great pick-up horses. He always knew how to light up the entire room with that million dollar smile and contagious laugh. He will never be forgotten for his positive outlook and a big strong hugs.

He was still shoeing horses until 2018. He spent several years outriding and shoeing at the Rillito Race Track in Tucson, Arizona.

Bob also had a good time gathering wild horses in the Pryor Mountains where he made a lot of memories and good horses.

He married Janet Nye in 1978 and gained a precious son, Travis. He was so proud to have a son to raise and help become a cowboy. Janet and Bob later divorced.

In 1990 he and Ebbie Williams were married. They raised two wonderful children together, Clate Robert (C.R.) and Cierra Linda. Bob was so proud of his two kids, he was fundamental in every part of their lives. He taught them to work hard, ride great horses, to rope with the best of them and always, always keep a positive attitude.

During his lifetime he helped numerous junior, high school and college kids in the sport of rodeo. He passed on his horsemanship to all his kids, nieces, and many more.
