Victoria “Vicki” Gutierrez Lucero, 64
On Wednesday September 18, 2019 Jesus came and took Vicki by the hand and lead her home. Her body died from complications due to a 33-year long battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
She was born on May 18, 1955 in Billings, MT to Domingo and Carmen Gutierrez. Vicki attended Taft elementary in Billings until she was 11 years old. The family then relocated to El Paso, Texas where she graduated from Ysleta High School in 1973. In 1974 she married James Roy and had her only child Sonja in January of 1977. Vicki began working for the United States Bureau of Reclamation as a clerk in 1983. She retired from the Bureau in 2013.
Vicki married the love of her life Joseph Lucero in 1988. They had a marriage of true love and devotion that lasts an eternity. Vicki and Joe were best friends that spent most of their time together. The couple enjoyed going to movies and having coffee. A simple quiet life they enjoyed with each other.
Vicki was a devoted mother to her only child Sonja. They enjoyed cooking Mexican food, shopping, laughing, and listening to The Beatles. Vicki’s Catholic faith was important and passed it onto Sonja. She made sure her daughter had the tools needed to be successful in life.
Vicki leaves: husband of 31 years Joseph Lucero; daughter Sonja Roy and her fiancé Wesley Caldwell; her nieces Franki Lynn Gutierrez and Christina Anaya; and sister Sally Anaya of San Antonio Texas.
