Doris Maxine Johnson (Lundin—Buckingham) Lundin
Doris was born February 16, 1927, in Bozeman, Montana. A lifelong Montana resident, she passed away February 10, 2017 in Billings.
Doris was adopted when she was 5 weeks old by Irwin and Thea Johnson of Rossfork, Montana and grew up on the family farm. She attended Fergus County High School in Lewistown, Montana, graduating in 1944.
On June 21, 1944 Doris married Joe Lundin in Lewistown. Together they had six sons. Early in their marriage they lived in Fergus County and later moved to Alaska. They were divorced and Doris moved with her sons to Billings in 1962. She worked as a livestock clerk for Midland Empire Packing Company for 12 years. Doris then drove school bus for School District 2 for 15 years, retiring in 1991.
On August 29, 1974 Doris married Bob Buckingham. They were happily married 23 ½ years, traveling, fishing and enjoying their summer place at Mcleod, on the Boulder River. They spent several winters in Southern Utah before Bob passed away April 1, 1997.
In November of 1999 Doris remarried Joe Lundin. They spent that winter as snowbirds in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Joe passed away June 20, 2000.
Doris was a long time member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. She loved being around her family and visiting with friends. She enjoyed flower gardening and was an accomplished seamstress.
Doris is survived by her sons, Steven (Bonnie), David (Judith), Bruce (Barbara), Scott (Sarita) and Mark (Heidi), and daughter in law Sonia (Val). There are 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Joy Shepardson (VA).
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, brother Bud Johnson (Shirley), son Val Lundin (Sonia), daughter in –law Lynda Lundin(Mark), granddaughter Thea Lundin.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be at a later date. In lieu
of flowers memorials may be sent to St. Andrews Church, Shodair Children’s Home (Helena, MT) or a charity of your choice.
