On Friday, September 28th, with his loving family by his side, this world lost an amazing man with a heart of gold. Britt Mikell Moffet was born in Billings on October 29, 1958 to Thomas and Sheri Moffet. He grew up in Billings and graduated from Billings Senior High School in 1976. In 1977 he started working at Pierce Flooring and in 2004 ventured into the business with his Uncle Joe and opened Northwest Floors. When Joe retired in 2016, friend and co-worker Travis Heindl teamed up with him as partners in the business.
On August 9, 1997 Britt married Darcy Wise. Together they loved spending time with their families and friends. Summer was of course the favorite season because camping in their motorhome, long road trips, motorcycles, and his RAZR 4 wheeler were his favorite past times.
He was also a member of the Yellowstone Valley Mustang Club and was very proud of his “BOSS” and his “Saleen”. In the off season his passion was building and racing RC cars and trucks. He even built a small RC track behind his house to spend time with his nephews racing their “toys”.
As a young man, Britt raced motocross and even raced in Sturgis one year. It’s easy to say, if it had wheels and a motor, he was interested!
There has never been a more kind and gentle soul. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend to many.
Britt leaves behind his loving wife Darcy and his beloved dog Jazzmin, his parents Tom and Sheri, two daughters from a previous marriage April and Ashley Moffet and stepson James Neely. He also leaves behind sister Jodee Patrick (Mike), brother Blake (Carrie), brothers-in-law Monte Wise (Barb), Sheldon Wise (Terry) and Sheridan Wise (Bev). He has four grandchildren, Isaiah and Alana (April) and Serenity and Austin (Ashley), five nephews, Brady Hoiness, Devan Hoiness, Preston Moffet, Caleb Wise and Justin Wise, three nieces, Heather Wise, Ariel Tokarski and Bridget Brown.
A celebration of Britt’s life will be held 11am Saturday October 6, 2018 at Faith Chapel (Broadwater side).
In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to prostatecancerfoundation.org or the American Cancer Society.
Britt, God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So he put his arms around and whispered, “Come to me.” A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best!
