Early morning, May 8, 2019, James Neil Mullins left this world for the next.
Born August 31, 1937 to Cecil and Alice Mullins in Inglewood, Ca., he grew up in the countryside of Madera along with his 5 older brothers and sisters. At 18, he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard.
Known to his family and friends as Neil or Dad, his co-workers as Jim and the rest as Mr. Mullins, he worked as a quality control inspector for Caterpillar Tractor Company and Teledyne/Waterpick. At the age of 30, he became a first time father to Stacey and, again 2 1/2 years later, he welcomed his second daughter, Stefanie. He was a coach, a referee and a mentor and an all-around good man.
After retirement, he traveled in his RV throughout much of the western U.S. He served as a park host for the USFS in Washington State before settling in Montana in 2007.
He was preceded in death by both his parents, brothers John and Bill, and sister, Lucille. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
