Gary Duane Noyes
Gary passed away after a short illness, on October 7, 2019, at Riverstone Health Hospice surrounded by his wife, daughters, and their families.
Gary D. Noyes was born June 1, 1940. He was raised on a grain and beet farm in Big Horn County, North Valley, by his parents Royal Glen Noyes and Chrystal Ann (Potts) Noyes. He was the middle child of five children. He received his education at Sorrel Horse School and Hardin High School.
Gary met the love of his life Alberta (Bertie) Schell, and they were married on September 5, 1959 in Hardin.
They began their life together farming at North Valley, until Gary decided to venture on and seek other employment opportunities. He worked at various construction jobs around Montana and was a very talented heavy equipment operator working on many large construction projects throughout the state. He went to work for Holly Sugar Beet Factory for several years, and then decided to farm again after beginning employment with the Big Horn County Road Department. He eventually started to work for the Montana State Highway Department, transferring his employment to Billings in 1981. He retired in 2003 after twenty-seven years. Gary was praised for his skilled ability as a fabricator.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Jim and Cecil.
Gary is survived by his wife Bertie; daughter Rhonda and her husband Steve Diefenderfer of Billings; daughter Shelly Boeckel and her husband Stan Kemrer of Billings; grandchildren Brad Diefenderfer of Denver, CO; Craig (Kandra) Deifenderfer of Billings; Stefani (Will) Burruss of Denver, CO; Kelly (Shanteal) Boeckel of Billings; Korey (Maria) Boeckel of Havre; eleven great grandchildren that he enjoyed spending time with; one brother, Royal (Joan) Noyes; sister Pat (Bob) Mereness; and sisters-in-law Terry Potts and Billie Noyes. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday October 11, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Billings.
