Judy (nee Brensdal) Osmundson, of Huntley, MT, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2019 at the age of 97. Her husband, Howard, passed away on December 2, 2018.
Judy is lovingly remembered by her children, Beth (Kevin), Holly (Terry), Mary, and Russell (Sarah). Judy’s eight grandchildren lovingly remember their time with her. Judy’s family includes five great-grandchildren. Her family was always dear to her. Her parents, Peder & Bergitte Brensdal, siblings Trygve, Harold, Lillian, Betty, Hulda, Borgny, Bjarne, and Ozz were an important part of her life. Judy’s extended family was also very special to her.
Judy graduated from Northern Montana College in Havre, MT, earning an Associates Degree in Business and Secretarial Science. After graduation, she worked for the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service in Plentywood, MT. During WW II, she ventured to Los Angeles, CA to work for U. S. Spring and Bumper Co. Returning to Montana, she worked for Farmers Home Administration in Bozeman, MT. Her positions included Secretary, Bookkeeper, and Office Manager.
Judy and Howard were married in 1953 near Comerton, MT. They lived in rural Jordan, MT, rural Absarokee, MT, and rural Huntley, MT during their married life. After their marriage, Judy’s focus was on raising her 4 kids, being part of their activities, including being a 4H leader.
Judy was a long time member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Shepherd, MT, serving the church in many capacities. Sunday School teacher & superintendent, WELCA Secretary, Prayer Chain, and countless other volunteer opportunities.
Judy will be remembered for her caring and giving spirit. She was ready with a meal for her guests, preparing food for events at the church, and making Kransekake for weddings, and keeping the coffee can stocked with cookies. Her family will cherish the memories they have of their mother, grandmother, and sister. She regularly called her siblings. She wrote and talked to her children when she was unable to visit them. She took time to play with her grandchildren, rocking them to sleep, reading to them, and spending time making memories for them.
