Sharon Lee Bishop Overcast Obituary
(June 30, 1940 – March 27, 2019)

 

Sharon was born on June 30, 1940 in Havre, Montana to Ward and Audrey Bishop of Opheim, Montana. She was the oldest of five children and has two brothers, Bob Bishop of Billings and Jim Bishop of Gillette, Wyoming, and two sisters, Susan Bishop of Helena, Montana and Bunny Bishop of Port Angeles, Washington. She was preceded in death by her father, Ward, her mother, Audrey and her husband, Louis Dotson Overcast.

By faith Sharon trusted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior in June, 1957 and lived her life as a witness to all she met with her kindness and hospitality.

She graduated from Opheim High School in 1958 and Montana State College School of Nursing with an Associates degree and became a registered nurse in 1960. On November 20, 1960 she married Louis Overcast in Havre. They have four children; Brian Louis of Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico, his wife Mireya and two daughters Kristina and Keila; Susan Ruth of Portland, Oregon; Allan Ward of Billings, his wife Angela, daughter Annemarie, and son Anthony; John Todd of Kalispell, Montana and his wife Rose.

Sharon worked as an RN in various capacities in Montana (Havre, Sidney, Red Lodge, and Billings) and in Lynchburg, Virginia. Following retirement by a stroke in 2002, she was a volunteer for RSVP, Billings (Senior Resources), St. Vincent’s Hospital, and Rocky Mountain hospice. She was an active member of Faith Evangelical Church in Billings and sang for many years with the Women of Praise and other choral groups.

Her life has been rich with her loving husband Louis, her children, siblings, many caring friends and a gracious God.

There will be a memorial service celebrate Sharon’s life on April 6th at 11:00 AM at Faith Evangelical Church.  For those who can not attend, the service will be live streamed at www.faithe.org.
