Steven D. Plonski, 72, of Big Timber, Montana passed away on Monday, July 22, 2019 in Billings, Montana. Steve retired to rural Big Timber, MT where he resided with his wife Deborah, who describes him as a good man and a good husband.
Steve was born in post World War II Brooklyn, New York in 1947. The son of Sigmund and Vera Plonski, he enlisted in the United States Air Force after graduating from Commack High School in 1966. In the Air Force, Steve served in the 341st Missile Wing stationed at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls, Montana as a Minuteman II Ballistic Missile Technician from 1967 to 1974 holding a Top Secret CRYPTO security clearance. Steve had an amazing mind for engineering with an incredible natural talent for all things mechanical. He was a talented engineer, fabricator, mechanic, welder, craftsman, electrician and could accomplish anything to which he set his mind. Steve was an avid fan of classic rock, and enjoyed the outdoors, particularly camping and boating.
In addition to his wife Deborah, Steve is survived by his former wife Ceile, their children, Russell, Jill, and Michael, and six grandchildren, Alex, Tyler, Lillian, Madison, Samantha, and Hannah, as well as Deb’s children Kit, Max, and Will and Kit’s son Jake. He is also survived by his sister Suellen.
Steven’s final wishes were to be cremated and have his ashes scattered by air, and his wishes will be fulfilled by his immediate family members.
