Jacquelyn Stigen Ray

Jackie Ray passed away in the early morning hours on December 10, 2019 of pneumonia related complications.

Jackie was born on May 20, 1965 to Betty and Jack Stigen.  She spent her childhood years on the family ranch north of Ryegate, then later in Grass Range and Roy.  On September 14, 1985, Jackie married the love of her life, Dan Ray.  They lived in Roundup for a while, then moved to Wenatchee, Washington for a few years and then back to Billings to be closer to friends and family.

Jackie was always a hard worker and loved being a CNA.  When her health would no longer allow her to do that, she worked in the billing department for Billings Clinic. Several back surgeries forced an early retirement.

Jackie will always be best remembered for her kind and generous heart. Her generosity continued even after death by giving the gift of sight to two individuals as an organ donor.  She brought her sense of humor and bubbly personality to everything she did and every conversation.  Jackie loved to garden, play cards, and visit with family and friends.  Although Jackie and Dan never had children of their own, she was a second Mom to many and shared sister Sue’s children and grandchildren with her. She loved them all dearly.  Family was always an important part of Jackie’s life.

Jackie is preceded in death by her husband Dan Ray, both parents, and sister-in-law, Pam Stigen.  She is survived by her sister, Sue DeVries (Dick), brother, Mike Stigen, nieces Nichole Atallah(Jad) and Jaime DeVries, nephews  TJ DeVries, and Eric (Jessie) Stigen and all the great nieces and nephews, her furry kids, Boots and Snuffy and many friends.

Our beloved sister, Aunt, and Friend, it is with much sadness that we have to say good-bye.  We know you are now with God and your Dan once again. No more pain, no more worries.  We love you Jackie.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life is planned in the spring on Jackie’s birthday, May 20, 2020.
