Darlene Thomas passed away on June 27, 2018 at home with her family. Darlene was born on September 9, 1927 in Stella, Nebraska, the third of six children of Roy and Vera Sarvis. As a young child the family was moved from Stella to Brownville, Nebraska. There Darlene graduated valedictorian of her class.

On November 1, 1945 Darlene married her high school sweetheart, Warren Thomas while he was home on leave. After Warren returned home, the couple settled in to married life on the farm. They were blessed with two sons and a daughter.

In 1956 Darlene and Warren moved their young family to Billings, MT. Two more daughters were added to their happy family. In the early 1960’s Darlene went to work at Rainbow Cleaners. After a short time, she went to work for Nu Tread Tire. By 1965 she had gone to work for L P Anderson Tire where she became co-owner.

Darlene retired in 1993 and the couple moved to Nye, MT. This fulfilled a thirty-year dream of retiring in paradise. One short year after her retirement, Warren was in a tractor/train accident and his health began to decline. Darlene lovingly cared for Warren until his passing in 2008.

In 2012 Darlene’s health forced her to return to Billings. She moved into a beautiful apartment where she enjoyed entertaining her friends and family.

Darlene loved to laugh. She enjoyed traveling, entertaining, and playing Pinochle and Scrabble.
