Donna June Thomsen departed this world on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018. She had been fighting pancreatic cancer. June (she went by her middle name) was born in Oakland, California, on June 20, 1943, to John and Barbara Norris. She grew up in California, mostly Santa Barbara. After graduating from Santa Barbara High she went on to study at The University of California Santa Barbara. She graduated with a BA in History. During her time at UCSB she met Roger Thomsen. Fairly quickly she decided he was the one. June and Roger were married January 29, 1966.
Roger’s love of Montana brought her to Montana. She never gave up her love of the ocean and California, but became a real Montana girl. June spent 34 years working for the Bureau of Reclamation. She prided herself on keeping her engineers paperwork straight.
June is survived by her husband Roger; son Jeff and wife Mary Thomsen; 3 grandsons, Scott Blackman, Dylan Blackman and Erik Thomsen, sister Holly Fouts; and brother & sister-in-law Don and Sheila Thomsen.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial Services are pending and will be in January. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Help for Homeless Pets
