Clara May Tinagero, 83, of Billings passed away on September 20, 2017 at St. Vincent HealthCare. Clara was born on March 7, 1934 in Wilkes-Barre, PA to Carl and Mary Ellen (Hufford) Longerman.
Clara was an active life member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 1634. She was the past President of the Post from 1998-2003 and a Sr. Vice-President for 12 years. She held district offices as well as state level. Her greatest legacy is fundraising for the Yellowstone County Cemetery which later became the Yellowstone National Cemetery. The program that she was most proud of was the Vet in the Classroom, Voice of Democracy, Patriots Pen, Cancer Aid, and Research and Flag Etiquette. She was a true supporter of all Veterans’ and participated in the 4th of July parades, Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day ceremonies and any other program where she was needed. She will be sorely missed.
Clara was a grandma to several and they all love her dearly. She was a great pool player, and the best pool partner anyone could ask for! She was a terrific roommate especially when she used her fantastic cooking skills. She was an Oakland Raiders fan and enjoyed her trip to Rock in the Rivers, where she was definitely young at heart with all of us during that great week. Clara was a great travel partner, even if she couldn’t get her east to west directions correct. She was truly an amazing woman that will be missed by all who knew her. We love you!
A Memorial Service will be held at 1 pm, Saturday September 30, 2017 at Cremation & Funeral Gallery.
