Randy Wayne Vralsted, age 60, passed away peacefully in his sleep Friday, July 27, after a long battle with cancer.
He was born May 28,1958, to Dale and Ada Vralsted in Billings, Montana.
Randy attended Miles Ave Elementary and Lewis and Clark Jr High. He quit school at 15 to pursue his passion with art. Soon after got his GED from West High and attended Montana State University where he received his Bachelor of Art degree. He continued his education and received a Master of Arts in sculpture and painting from University of Iowa, Master Fine Arts in Painting from University of Montana in Missoula, MT. He received his Entry Level Secondary Certification Art K-12 Montana State University, Billings, MT and then finally Bachelor of Art in Graphic design Portland State University in Portland, OR. Randy’s artwork has been featured in over 25 regional and national exhibits and is in private collections across the US
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Dale and Ade Vralsted , Grandparents Lawrence and Nora Vralsted .
He is survived by his brother Tim Vralsted and his sister Cindy Vralsted of Laurel. Three nieces, Steffany (Knute)Rasmussen, Stacy (Shawn) Puryear, Allyson Thornley, and one nephew Nickolas Thornley.
We will miss you so very much dear brother. Fly free and paint the skies, you’ve got it all now brother!
There will be a Celebration of Life and painting displays at Q’s Art Shop and Gallery, 1511 6th Ave., Billings, MT. On Aug 19th from 1 -3 pm. We will be on the back patio. Think of a good story or something you remember Randy by to share with us. Refreshments will be served.
