Ardyth ‘Ardy’ Noon Wise Boehm

Ardy was born on February 7, 1939 in Bismarck ND.  She was the first of three children born to James and Helen (Solberg) Noon of Wilton ND.  She passed away in the early morning hours of November 17, 2017 at the age of 78 at Highgate Senior Living Memory Care Cottage in Billings, MT.  She had suffered the effects of Alzheimer ’s disease for several years and she died due to complications from that disease.

She grew up on the family farm in Wilton, ND.  Her love of the outdoors and horses was discovered early in life and was nurtured by her father and grandfather.  She was a petite little cowgirl who loved barrel racing and being a jockey more than anything else.  She won many competitions and her barrel racing times are still in the North Dakota Rodeo Association Books.  She loved to sit and tell stories of her days of “horsing around”.

In May of 1956 she married Russel Wise in Wilton, ND.  In 1960 they moved to Billings, MT with their three sons and in 1961 they welcomed a daughter.  Her family was always her top priority and she treasured her children above all else.  Her home was always open and welcoming to friends who needed a place to be or a meal to eat.  She was well known for cooking huge amounts of food, just in case somebody showed up hungry.  Cooking became her passion and as a result she acquired enough cookbooks to fill a library.

In June 1993, Ardy and Russ moved to Boyd, MT where they could have a couple horses and raise a few cows.  In 1999, Ardy was widowed when Russ was fatally injured in a tractor accident.

Ardy was always a hard worker.  In 1974 she started work the Billings Sheltered Workshop as a Bookbindery Supervisor, transitioning to the central printshop of Billings School District #2.  She retired from there in June 2004 after working there for 30 years.

In June 2002 Ardy married Patrick Boehm at her daughter’s house in Billings.  From that marriage she gained three stepchildren whom she loved as her own.

Ardy is survived by her brother Gary (Karen) Noon of Omaha NE, children, Monte Wise of Pocatello ID, twin sons Sheridan (Beverly) Wise of Stevensville MT, Sheldon (Terry) Wise and daughter Darcy (Britt) Moffet, both of Billings, three stepchildren, Jodie (Tom) Fetsch of Mandan ND, Troy (Lisa) Boehm of Mandan ND and Darrin (Heidi) Boehm of West Fargo ND, stepbrother James Martineson of Prospect KY.  Grandchildren Heather Wise of Stevensville MT, Caleb Wise of Bozeman MT, Justin Wise of Three Forks MT, Bridget Brown of Pocatello ID, twin granddaughters April and Ashley Moffet of Billings MT, Steven (Samantha) Fetsch of Hazen ND, Sarah (Kendal) Rose of Bismarck ND, and Tanner and Jack Boehm of West Fargo ND, 10 great grandchildren and one great granddaughter coming in March 2018. She is also survived by her two “adopted” sons Emanuel Hartman III and Allen Cattaneo as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Preceding her in death are her parents, her brother Gordon Noon, husband Russel Wise, and husband Patrick Boehm.

Her children would like to thank the Care Partners at Highgate Senior Living Memory Care Cottage for the outstanding way they provided for Mom while she was a resident there.  She was treated with the respect and dignity she so richly deserved.

Visitation will be Friday November 24th from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. and a Celebration of her life will be Saturday November 25th at 10 a.m., both at Cremation and Funeral Gallery, 29 8th Street West in Billings MT with burial at Yellowstone Valley Memorial Park.  If desired, donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
