Duane Wold, passed away June 1, 2018, at Billings Clinic Hospital after suffering a stroke. He was the first of eight children born to David and Ellen Wold in Scobey, MT on October 11, 1930.
He was an entrepreneur at heart so his work and career experiences involved many adventures. At a young age he began working beside his father in construction and farming. In 1948, his senior year at Dawson County High School he worked at Hagenston Hardware sweeping floors, washing windows, and other menial tasks. Before pursuing another career opportunity in 1953, he became a very successful salesman. One of his traits was exercising a strong work ethic to provide desirable living and education for his family so he was never slack about striving to advance in his employment opportunities. He sold life and health insurance and was an insurance claims adjuster. He also traveled through seventeen counties in eastern Montana while employed by Eaton Metal Products headquartered in Billings, MT.
In 1964 he purchased a franchise to manufacture, distribute and sell Rhodes Frozen Bread Dough products. He opened his first franchise in Jamestown, ND and expanded it to six manufacturing plants throughout the U.S.
Later ranching on Red Lodge and Volney Creek became a significant family endeavor, providing lasting memories. He often said, “Why would anyone want a vacation when you live in vacation land?”
Duane and Dolores were married August 13, 1950 in Glendive, MT
. They were blessed with five children: Mark, Claudia, Steve and Lonna; Renee was adopted into their family in 1974.
Duane is survived by his wife: Dolores; daughters Claudia Brisbin (Mike), Lonna Lindsay, Renee Albert (Dan); five grandchildren: Michael Wold, Matt Brisbin (Erin), Tayler Brisbin, Dylan Albert (Katherine) and Griffin Hansen; two adorable great-grandchildren: Hadley and Axel Brisbin. Also surviving sisters: Bea Geddings, Marian Johnson (Dallas), Rachel Beall (Louis), Judy Engeberg (Dale); and brother Darrell as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
His parents, sons Mark and Steve, sister Donna and brother John preceded him in death. The Seventh-Day Adventist Church and its missions were his passion. Serving God and those less fortunate was his steadfast focus and utmost priority.
A Memorial Service will be held 10 AM Sunday, June 24, 2018 at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 3200 Broadwater Avenue with a reception following. The family wants to thank the staff at Avantara and Pearl Unit for their loving care of Duane while a resident in their facility. They are special people.

Cremation has taken place and a private family burial will be at St. Olaf Church Cemetery, Red Lodge, MT beside his sons Mark and Steve.
